The Britomart Retail Pop-Up is a temporary structure housing four retail spaces. Initially conceived and built for the 2011 Rugby World Cup.

The “pop up” is split into two with a central courtyard. The exterior skin of each building is perforated and backlit so that the buildings glow at night. The central courtyard has a central focus of a Pou Tu Te Rangi, sculpted by Chris Bailey.

The backlighting was created by housing a IP rated LED strip in a custom designed extrusion. This extrusion conceals and aims the light source while providing a channel for wiring.
